Chilewich was born in 2000 out of designer Sandy Chilewich’s passion for reimagining overlooked materials and underused processes to transform the way people around the world set their tables. In designing textiles that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable, versatile, and easy to wipe clean, we offer products that address a key element of sustainability: longevity. Every Chilewich product is made to endure decades of daily use and to look good doing it, while conserving the resources required by machine washing and product replacement.
Sustainability is also the quest for better, and we’re committed to continuing to make choices that are better for people and the planet. From raw materials to finished goods, design to production, we recognize that this is an evolution that encompasses manufacturers, consumers, and policymakers in a complex interplay of economics, engineering, and chemistry.

"Delighted with our purchase. These mats make the perfect accent to our entryway. The mats are custom sizes, and we stressed the importance of Chilewich adhering as closely as possible to the measurements we provided - and they absolutely delivered!"
"Quick delivery, well made product, looks even better in person. I am a very happy customer!"

"I like them. I hope so as they are pricey!"
"Beautiful, quality mat."
"Have many Chilewich mats of all sizes and shapes. Love them and that’s why we keep ordering more."
"We currently have several shag mats. We’ve been turning to these for 20+ years for their performance and good looks, and reasonable price points. We have solid and striped versions, and all add nice color and functionality, both indoors and out. Indoors they help keep water and dirt contained, especially as we take off snow and rain boots. And we can leave the boots on the mats to dry. We also love that they tend to hold their colors well. One bright multi mat that we used outside our front door did eventually turn faded/dingy, but this was after years of use in intense sun. We’re big fans."
"I love this mat and it matches my bold stripe outdoor custom mat perfectly. I wanted a solid color for the entryway to transition from outside to in and it works great!"
"I bought this canary shag mat for my cat litter boxes and one of the gold Japanese buckets to hold extra litter. It made an eyesore look awesome! The litter can easily be vacuumed off the mat. I love Chilewich!"
"The 3x5 Solid Shat Mat in Silk is perfect for protecting our newly sanded wood floors in our entryway. The color matches our living room rug perfectly and the size and texture is perfect for getting our dog cleaned up before coming in the house. Elegant and utilitarian!"
