Description

Special edition created with Martha Stewart. Made in Japan to last a lifetime, Hachiman’s signature indoor/outdoor containers are reimagined in hues handpicked by Martha. Choose from two serene shades of green inspired by the eggs of Olive Egger and Cream Legbar chickens on Martha's farm in Bedford, New York.

Available in three versatile sizes, these ribbed, easy-to-stack containers excel at storage and much more. “They are ideal for all kinds of outdoor tasks and double as stools, side tables, coolers, and compost bins,” says Martha. “Use them indoors to store everything from children's toys and treasures to pet food and crafting supplies.” The opening in the handle is designed to hold a garden hose for hands-free filling, and each lidded bucket can support up to 330 pounds.

Winner of the Long Life Design Award, which recognizes Japanese products that can serve as a model for future design and exist as a standard across generations.

Chilewich was born in 2000 out of designer Sandy Chilewich’s passion for reimagining overlooked materials and underused processes to transform the way people around the world set their tables. In designing textiles that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable, versatile, and easy to wipe clean, we offer products that address a key element of sustainability: longevity. Every Chilewich product is made to endure decades of daily use and to look good doing it, while conserving the resources required by machine washing and product replacement.

Sustainability is also the quest for better, and we’re committed to continuing to make choices that are better for people and the planet. From raw materials to finished goods, design to production, we recognize that this is an evolution that encompasses manufacturers, consumers, and policymakers in a complex interplay of economics, engineering, and chemistry.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we’ll take it back for a refund.

Designed to Inspire

At the Chilewich studio in the Flatiron District of NYC, our team of designers and master weavers take creative cues from cross-disciplinary arts and a wide range of cultures. Our inspiration board, (shown right), captures the spirit of our design process. It is taken down and built anew with each season.
