Inspired by the play of light and shadow created by shifting sunbeams, Fade redefines stripes through its dynamic ombré effect. Tufted bi-color yarns, which combine multiple hues along a single strand, form fine lines of varying widths and intensities within a richly textured surface. Shag mats are ideal for bathrooms, outdoor terraces, pool areas, and entryways. Good in all weather and quick to dry.

Chilewich was born in 2000 out of designer Sandy Chilewich’s passion for reimagining overlooked materials and underused processes to transform the way people around the world set their tables. "I thought the these mats would have the stripes running parallel to the long dimension as shown in some photos of the mat. It is however shown both ways but the comment under Custom states Stripes on most mats will run parallel to the length (longer side) of the mat."

"Lovely soft color at our kitchen sliding glass deck door that harmonizes with the wall color (Ben Moore’s Woodlawn Blue), chairs and curtain panels. We had the identical shag mat in a different color for many years, and it’s still in perfect condition — I just wanted to move away from neutral. The only reason it’s 4 stars instead of 5 is that it does not want to lay perfectly flat on one side — there’s a little hump. We’ve rolled it in the opposite direction and weighted it. Maybe over time it will flatten and we’ll try rolling it the opposite direction again. But it’s not terribly noticeable."
