Dahlia placemats
"Our #1 favorite of all Chilewich placemats! We have a set in gunmetal. This design is beautiful, unique & elegant on our black granite table & our dark walnut dining table."
Description
Dahlia extends Chilewich’s innovative molded technique beyond the first circle of experimentation. Acting more like a charger than a placemat, plates will sit surrounded and enhanced by its intricate openwork. Part of Chilewich’s collection of “pressed” designs, it is delicate in appearance yet surprisingly resilient: a contemporary take on the ancient craft of lacemaking.

Chilewich was born in 2000 out of designer Sandy Chilewich’s passion for reimagining overlooked materials and underused processes to transform the way people around the world set their tables. In designing textiles that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also durable, versatile, and easy to wipe clean, we offer products that address a key element of sustainability: longevity. Every Chilewich product is made to endure decades of daily use and to look good doing it, while conserving the resources required by machine washing and product replacement.
Sustainability is also the quest for better, and we’re committed to continuing to make choices that are better for people and the planet. From raw materials to finished goods, design to production, we recognize that this is an evolution that encompasses manufacturers, consumers, and policymakers in a complex interplay of economics, engineering, and chemistry.

"Great."
"Such a great, unique addition to our table. Thin- so it makes layering easy. I mixed these Dahlias in with older versions of the same type of design when we added more place settings than I had originally planned."

For printed and pressed styles, use a soft sponge or cloth only. Avoid rough sponges and brushes on molded styles like Dahlia, as they can remove the metallic top layer. To sanitize pressed styles, use hydrogen peroxide rather than bleach.
