Cumarú is located in Nueva Costanera Avenue in Vitacura, Santiago de Chile, Chile. Opened in September 2012, it was designed by architect Gonzalo Mardones for owner, Maxitex. Cumarú, or Brazilian teak, is used extensively throughout the building on the interior and exterior, ceilings, floors, windows, decks and more. In 2012 the restaurant won the IIDA Best Interiors of Latin America in the Restaurant Category. Chef Mathieu Michel is from Belgium and is known for infusing dishes with inspiration from his homeland.
To complement the wood tones of the design, Chilewich Basketweave Latte placemats were selected for the table setting.
